For this vintage, we sourced grapes from the Russian River Valley; shaped by water, the Valley’s sand and clay-rich alluvial soils provide fertile ground for Pinot Noir. The hot days and cool, foggy nights allow the fruit to ripen slowly. Our winemaker worked to emphasize the inherent flavors of black currant, cherry, and strawberry, thereby creating a wine whose suppleness belies its strength — just like the mountain lions who still prowl these Sonoma county vineyards.
